Westside Children’s Educational Programs organizes three sessions of Santa Monica Music Camp during each calendar year year:
Winter Session (2 weeks)
Spring Session (2 weeks)
Summer Session (10 weeks).
The dates of each camp coincide with the seasonal breaks in the Santa Monica Malibu School District (SMMUSD) student calendar.
Within each camp there are two age categories, 5-11 and 11-17, that are regulated for age and level appropriate learning. Students can choose individual and group instruction on any orchestral instrument, plus piano, voice, and guitar. Electives afford students instruction in Jazz as well as Classical, and every student has 45 min of daily music theory instruction (composition).
The results are astonishing, as reflected in parent reviews, and the musical growth can be breath taking.
