Santa Monica Children’s Choirs
Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade
Open Enrollment
Online registration begins August 1st, 2023. Enrollment is open throughout the year and students can enroll at any time. Parents will need to complete the two-step registration process at their child’s first rehearsal.
Weekly Rehearsals
Each ensemble will have 36 weekly rehearsals and 2 concerts starting from week of August 28, 2023 through the week of May 13, 2023.
ALL CLASSES ARE HELD AT THE SANTA MONICA CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC
Concerts
The two concert dates are Sundays December 17, 2023 and May 11, 2024 each at 4 pm.
Tuition
To participate, students should register and must be paid-off for current session. If a student joins midway into a session, the tuition is then prorated and can then be used for another session in the future or as credit for lessons or Music Camp.
A Tuition fee for Fall Session is $270 which includes 12 Weekly rehearsals.
A Tuition fee for Winter Session is $270 which includes 12 Weekly rehearsals.
A Tuition fee for Spring Session is $270 which includes 12 Weekly rehearsals.
A Tuition fee for the full year is discounted to $700!!!

Mondays, 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm starting from August 28, 2023.
Santa Monica Children’s Choir 2nd Grade
Tuesday, 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm starting from August 29, 2023.
Santa Monica Children’s Choir 3rd Grade
Thursdays, 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm starting from August 31, 2023.
Faculty
Zoe Hyunjin Kwak is a choral music director and a collaborative pianist from Seoul, Korea. She has participated in and won numerous state, regional, and national choir competitions and festivals. This is her first year at Santa Monica Conservatory. She has served as a music director at Young Nak Church in LA. She is directing San Gabriel Children’s Choir and worked as a teaching artist at Pacific Chorale Children’s Choir. Currently, Ms. Kwak maintains an active teaching career in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. She also taught as an adjunct faculty member in Music at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Kentucky.
Ms. Kwak is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting (ABD) at the University of Kentucky where she studied with Dr. Jefferson Johnson and Dr. Lori Hetzel. Her current research focuses on the sacred pieces of American composer Joan Szymko for her dissertation. Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Louisville with a master’s degree in Choral Conducting studying under Dr. Kent Hatteberg.
